Connecting your Shearwell EID Stick Reader to the MyFarmWorks app allows you to scan livestock EID tags directly into your records, helping you record movements, weights, treatments and other livestock data quickly and accurately.
Follow the steps below to connect your Stick Reader and start scanning.
Connect your Shearwell EID Stick Reader
1. Turn on the Stick Reader
Press and hold the green button until the Stick Reader powers on.
2. Open the MyFarmWorks app
Open the app on your phone and go to the Home screen.
3. Select Connect Tag Reader
Tap Connect Tag Reader at the top of the screen.
4. Refresh available devices
Tap Refresh if your Stick Reader does not appear immediately.
5. Connect your reader
Select the correct device from the list and tap Connect.
6. Check the connection
Once connected:
The blue light will appear on the Stick Reader
The MyFarmWorks app will confirm the device is connected
You are now ready to scan livestock EID tags and record information directly within the app.
